How to do effective warm-up with Novalya on Facebook or Instagram?

Reading time: 4 min

Quick summary: Gradual warm-up allows increasing account's sending capacity while reducing temporary restriction risks.

Why is warm-up essential?

Recent or inactive account is more sensitive to high sending volumes.

Risks without warm-up

If you send 50 messages/day from first day on recent account:

  • ❌ Temporary restriction almost guaranteed
  • ❌ Account marked as "suspicious" by Meta
  • ❌ Future limit permanently reduced
  • ❌ Ineffective and risky prospecting

With gradual warm-up:

  • ✅ Ramp-up without triggering alert
  • ✅ Account perceived as normal and active by Meta
  • ✅ Limit gradually increases to 50-80 messages/day
  • ✅ Secure and optimal long-term prospecting

Warm-up principle

Gradual start allows improving account reputation with Meta's systems. Increasing too quickly triggers temporary limitations that can then reduce your maximum limit.

Follow this gradual schedule over 3 weeks minimum.

Week 1: Ultra-soft start

Daily volume:

  • 10 to 20 messages per day

Novalya configuration:

  • Prudent or Secured mode
  • Long intervals to acclimate account

Objectives:

  • Observe possible failures (there should be none)
  • Establish first sending history
  • Verify account responds well

Don't skip this step even if everything goes well. Warm-up must be gradual and regular.

Week 2: Gradual increase

Daily volume:

  • Gradually increase according to week 1 results
  • If no failures: move to 25-35 messages/day
  • If some failures: maintain 15-20 messages/day one more week

Novalya configuration:

  • Switch to Normal mode if no problem detected
  • Maintain Prudent mode if failures appeared

Objectives:

  • Test account's capacity to handle more volume
  • Monitor response rate (should be at least 5-10%)

Week 3 and following: Stabilization

Daily volume:

  • Adjust volume according to account maturity
  • Final goal: stable 40-50 messages/day
  • Don't maintain constant high volume (alternate high and low days)

Novalya configuration:

  • Normal mode for daily usage
  • Boost mode possible occasionally (max 20 messages)

Objectives:

  • Reach stable cruising speed
  • Maintain good response rate
  • Adapt according to occasional operations

Indicators to monitor during warm-up

Positive signals ✅

  • No unsent messages (or 1-2 isolated failures maximum)
  • Response rate >5%: At least 1 in 20 prospects responds
  • No Meta alerts in your account settings
  • Campaigns completed without interruption by Novalya

If you observe these signals, your warm-up is going well. Continue gradually increasing.

Alert signals to take seriously

  • Repeated unsent messages (5+ consecutive failures)
  • Response rate <2%: Your messages don't interest anyone
  • Meta alerts: "You're sending too many messages"
  • Campaign automatically interrupted by Novalya

Immediate action: Reduce volume by half, switch back to Prudent/Secured mode, and wait 48h before relaunching.

Essential best practices during warm-up

Strictly respect schedule

Don't skip steps even if everything goes well. Warm-up must be gradual AND regular.

❌ Bad approach: "Week 1 OK, I go directly to 60 messages/day"

✅ Good approach: 10 messages/week maximum increase

Send every day (6-7 days/week)

Regularity is more important than volume. Better 15 messages/day for 30 days than 200 messages in 3 days.

Ideal schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: Full volume
  • Saturday: Reduced volume (-30%)
  • Sunday: Break or very low volume

Use variants from start

Create 3 to 5 different versions of your message from beginning:

  • Structure and vocabulary changes
  • Natural and conversational tone
  • Approach variations

Novalya will automatically alternate between these variants to avoid repetition.

Target qualified prospects

Even in warm-up, don't spam. Target people truly interested in your offer:

  • Get positive responses = strong signal for Meta
  • Avoid spam reports = preserve your reputation
  • Improve your Meta "score" = future limit increase

Stay active on your account

In parallel with warm-up, maintain normal activity:

  • Like posts (10-20/day)
  • Comment in groups (3-5/day)
  • Post content (2-3 posts/week)

Globally active account gets higher limits.

What to do after 3-week warm-up?

Once 3 weeks completed without problem, you can:

Identify your personal limit

Continue gradually increasing to detect your maximum limit:

  • Week 4: Test 50-60 messages/day
  • Week 5: If OK, test 70 messages/day
  • Stop at first sign of temporary restriction

Your limit = Volume just before restriction.

Maintain safety margin

If your limit is 70 messages/day, stay at 50-60 messages/day maximum in daily usage.

Keep 10-20% margin to:

  • Avoid accidental restrictions
  • Have flexibility for occasional operations
  • Preserve long-term account health

FAQ

My account is 6 months old but I never sent messages: should I do warm-up?

Yes. Account age isn't only criterion. If you've never sent messages regularly, Meta has no history about you. Do accelerated 2-week warm-up: Week 1 = 15-25 messages/day, Week 2 = 35-50 messages/day.

Can I do warm-up in 1 week instead of 3?

Technically yes, but riskier. If your account already has few months and minimum activity, you can do accelerated warm-up: Week 1 = 20-30 messages/day. But 3-week warm-up remains safer.

Should I redo warm-up if I stop Novalya for 2 months?

Yes, lighter version. If you stopped several months: Week 1 = 15-25 messages/day, Week 2 = 35-50 messages/day, Week 3 = Return to your normal limit.

Maximum messages after complete warm-up?

Depends on your account. Typically: Good established account = 50-70 messages/day, Excellent very active account = up to 100 messages/day occasionally, Average account = 30-40 messages/day.

Do birthday messages count in warm-up?

No. Facebook birthday messages don't count in your Meta limits. You can send them in parallel with your warm-up without impacting your progression.
