What is the main pipeline?


A contact can be present in multiple pipelines simultaneously.


The main pipeline is used to choose:

  • Which pipeline should be considered the main reference
  • Which color/label to display as priority in Messenger/Instagram


The main pipeline applies the same way on Facebook Messenger and Instagram DM.



Where do we see the main pipeline?


The main pipeline is visible in Messenger/Instagram overlay:

  • A colored badge or label appears under contact name
  • Color corresponds to main pipeline
  • Pipeline name can display on hover


This allows quick contact identification without opening CRM.



Where to change the main pipeline?


In contact profile


  1. Open contact profile in your CRM
  2. You'll see list of all pipelines where this contact is located
  3. Above this list, select main pipeline in dropdown menu
  4. Change is immediate


Main pipeline appears first in contact profile.



Why it's important?


The main pipeline allows:

  • Keeping clear reading in Messenger/Instagram
  • Avoiding confusion if contact belongs to multiple pipelines
  • Standardizing your tracking (e.g., always display "Prospects" or "Customers" as main)
  • Visually identifying contact priority


Concrete example


Contact "Marie" present in:

  • Pipeline "Hot prospects" (red color)
  • Pipeline "Q1 Campaign" (blue color)
  • Pipeline "VIP" (gold color)


If main pipeline = "VIP":

  • In Messenger, Marie will have a gold badge
  • You immediately identify this is a VIP contact

Choose coherent logic


Option A: By commercial priority

  • Main pipeline = most important status
  • E.g., "Customers" > "Prospects" > "Cold leads"


Option B: By current objective

  • Main pipeline = current campaign/action
  • E.g., "Black Friday campaign" during operation


Option C: By relationship seniority

  • Main pipeline = longest history
  • E.g., "Customers 2+ years" > "Recent customers"


General recommendation


Choose as main pipeline the one representing contact's main commercial status (e.g., "Prospects", "Customers", "Partners").


Use other pipelines for complementary segmentation (temporary campaigns, events, follow-ups).

Must I necessarily define a main pipeline?


Yes. If a contact is in multiple pipelines, Novalya defines one as main by default (usually first added). You can change it anytime.


What happens if I change the main pipeline?


Only color/label in Messenger changes. Contact stays in all their current pipelines. No data is lost.


Does main pipeline affect CRM campaigns?


No. CRM campaigns target contacts according to pipeline selected in campaign, not according to main pipeline.


If I delete the main pipeline, what happens?


If you delete the pipeline currently defined as main, Novalya will automatically define another pipeline as main (if contact is in other pipelines).
