# How do I update the Novalya Chrome extension?

## How do I know an update is available?

When a new version is published:

🔔 Automatic notification

- A **pop-up** appears on the Novalya platform
- An **explanatory video** is available to guide you
- A **direct link** redirects you to the Chrome extensions page

You're automatically informed when an important update is available.

## Method 1: Update from Novalya dashboard (recommended)

📋 Guided procedure

**1. Open your Novalya dashboard**
   - Log in at [app.novalya.com](https://app.novalya.com)

**2. A pop-up appears**
   - "New version available"
   - Explanatory video included

**3. Click "Update"**
   - You're redirected to the Chrome extensions page

**4. Follow the Chrome steps**
   - Enable **Developer mode**
   - Click **"Update"**
   - Chrome automatically updates the extension

✅ **Update complete!**

## Method 2: Manual update from Chrome

If you want to manually check for updates:

**1. Open Google Chrome**

**2. Access extensions**
   - Click the **puzzle piece** icon (🧩) at top right
   - Or type in address bar: `chrome://extensions/`

**3. Enable Developer mode**
   - Switch at top right of the page

**Should I update every notification?**

Yes, it's recommended. Updates often contain important fixes or adaptations to Facebook/Instagram changes.

**Are my ongoing campaigns affected?**

No. Ongoing campaigns continue normally after update. No interruption.

**Will I lose my data after updating?**

No. All your data (contacts, campaigns, messages) is stored on the Novalya platform, not in the extension. The update doesn't affect anything.

**How long does an update take?**

Less than 30 seconds. Chrome automatically downloads and installs the new version.

**Can I refuse an update?**

Technically yes, but **strongly discouraged**. Old versions may stop working if Meta changes Facebook/Instagram.
